Jumpstarting innovation management: A case study with UCB
UCB, a global biopharmaceutical company, focuses on connecting people, patients and science in order to find treatments for severe diseases. Every year the company hosts an event that helps scientists at all levels connect with the larger organization by showcasing various projects from the company’s Biology team.
In 2008 Phil Scordis, Director of Informatics Computational Research at UCB, realized that improvements could be made to better expose scientists’ work at this event. Using Imaginatik’s Idea Central platform UCB was able to collect input on the event and improve the showcase that following year.
This helped jump-start the UCB idea management program. Leaders at UCB also used this program to uncover ideas to improve their research department and to create a long-term strategy development program.
